News, Published on 17/08/2017
» Having signed the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, Thailand recognises the concept of indigeneity, i.e., native peoples. Yet, presently in Thailand, the state does not acknowledge being home to indigenous peoples. This oversight must be addressed.

Don't judge these books by their titles
News, Roger Crutchley, Published on 25/11/2018
» It is generally agreed that a snappy title helps the sales of a book, although some can be a real turnoff. With this in mind, for 40 years the English literary magazine Bookseller, has been holding an annual award for the oddest book title. Also known as the Diagram Prize, last year's winner was the enthralling The Commuter Pig Keeper which just edged out the thought-provoking Nipples on My Knee.

Is Aussie political madness catching?
News, Gwynne Dyer, Published on 29/08/2018
» I happened to be in Canberra last Friday, speaking to a room full of journalists at the National Press Club, when the news came in, halfway through lunch, that Australia had a new prime minister. The moderator pointed out that the year is already two-thirds gone and it is "only three prime ministers till Christmas" -- and the China Daily's headline read "Australia changes its prime minister again, again, again, again, again".
