By Chris-TH, Created on: 19/06/2009, Last updated on: 01/07/2009

» Well, it seems that the Section 100 (3) "ghost" has appeared again. Just a reminder: "(3) being a concessionaire or continuing to hold a concession from the State, State agency, State enterprise or local administration or being a party to a contract of a directly or indirectly monopolistic...

Mr Suthep said he was getting older and there were many ways he could continue his political activities without having to contest a by-election. If he were disqualified he could continue to hold the position of deputy prime minister, which does not have to be filled by an elected MP. He had no plans to get out of politics.[/color:2r54px03] So Suthep will continue as a Minister of he is disqualified as an MP??? Well, look at this subject and Section 100 (3) (not to mention 251) in the Act. A violation of the Anti Corruption Act causes removal from office and a possible jail sentence of up to 3 years!! Or did the scope of the Act change after it was sucessfully used in the Ratchada case? Where did the "Moral and Ethics" go???? Just asking!!!!!!

The implication is that if he wants to he can ignore an EC ruling.

» After so many years of writing, I have ended up with a 'why bother' attitude when it comes to the more controversial news which should matter. Anyone remember the not-very-smart ID cards that cost 888 million baht and which, to this day, are not fully utilised?

» The grammar police caught US President Barack Obama improperly using the two English pronouns "I" and "me" in public speeches. Since his election, the president has been bluntly criticised by grammarian bloggers for using "I" instead of "me" in phrases like "a very personal decision for Michelle and I" , "the main disagreement between John and I" and "graciously invited Michelle and I".

    • banmebkk commented : Yes most likely your application stacked up along with other application on someones desk. The law changes when the government changes, therefore all these applications are always on hold due to the law. This is the same for people who are trying to obtain their citizenship. Your application could also be bumped down by others who have a "fast track pass". The fast track way is to know someone inside who can fast track your application. Get friendly with the people who renew your visas and they may throw you a hand and let you know who to get in touch. If the Dems gets re-elected in the upcoming elections, there will be another wave of approved applications. I have no idea how far down your application sits, so no guarantee you will be approved in the next wave as well.
