    YouTube ramps up ads, moderation

Life, James Hein, Published on 01/03/2023

» If this was a YouTube video you would have to sit through up to 30 seconds of ads before you could even start. YouTube seems to be stepping up its advertising while at the same time providing less service. I still use it because it has things I'm interested in, like Chinese martial arts series and info on music products I like. If I'd written this using ChatGPT you would not see some of the material because the trust and safety filters on the AI product have repeatedly been found to be biased towards the US political left in the content it will return. Some people associated with ChatGPT have acknowledged this but it remains to be seen if anything will change.

How will the much-touted meeting make Thailand better off in the long run? That was how “Vivid ASEAN,” one of the key performances at the Opening Ceremony of the 34th ASEAN Summit held during June 22-23, 2019 in Bangkok, was presented.

    Windows on the world

Life, Kong Rithdee, Published on 28/09/2017

» As Hussain Currimbhoy sees it, this is a golden age for documentary filmmaking, a time when the criss-crossing narratives of the world tangle with audiences' growing suspicion over traditional media. The emergence of streaming services has also revolutionised distribution philosophy and connected doc-makers with audiences in ways unseen before, especially with audiences who once had little interest in documentary titles.

Life, Catherine Faulder, Published on 20/10/2015

» As is the case with most modern Bangkok dwellings, my compact apartment does not have an oven. So I am forced to eat out a lot. I use the term "forced" loosely, as we all know Bangkok is a city that boasts some of the best food in the world.
