» I recently saw a magazine cover that featured a man who had an extremely strange and long name. I don't even remember the name, what he did or why he was on the cover. All I remember is that his name was really weird. It was the Thai equivalent of "Dsfjosoifandegfio". In other words, it looked like someone had spilled Scrabbles tiles and decided to use the resulting mess as a name.

When we're browsing our favourite celebrity's Instagram accounts, shops make their presence known in the (irrelevant) comments. When we're spying on our exes on Facebook, the ads on the side provide a nice distraction.

» About a week ago, I told my friend I didn't ever want my kid to grow up. She agreed, saying it's probably irresponsible to bring a new life into this kind of world. Our reasons were simple -- the ever-worsening traffic, people's deceitfulness, cruel climate change and just the struggle of life in general. Try getting through Friday evening traffic on payday when it rains on Sukhumvit Road -- you'll see what I mean. Or read this issue's cover story, which pretty much sums it up.

» What would life be without social media? Admit it -- the first thing you do in the morning is reach for your phone to see if you have new Line messages or Facebook notifications. » As a part of my glamorous, coveted job, I am in contact with about 100 PR representatives per day. OK, maybe five, but still. While most of them are pleasant and send me food on a regular basis, I've had my share of traumatising experiences that I can't seem shake out of my pretty head. I'm not just talking about PR people exclusively — the young(er) generation of office workers can also drive office aunties like me up the wall.

» I was about a few years short of being able to apply for my driver's license when they announced they would no longer be offering lifelong permits. That means, for the rest of my life, I'm required to visit the Department of Land Transport every five years to renew this little white card that I've never really used — for which I am proud, as it means I've never been flagged down by traffic police!
