    Bangkok, uninterrupted

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 17/10/2014

» In the past few months, numerous crackdowns and clean-ups have been happening in and around the city. From demolishing street stalls to arresting irresponsible drivers, clamping vehicles parked illegally, and banning the use of hookahs in restaurants and bars - it’s all fine and dandy but aren’t the powers that be stripping the city of its charms? Tourists don’t travel thousands of miles to spend their holidays in our parks nor do they come to experience fancy restaurants that pride themselves on top-notch hygiene standards. Sure, residents of Bangkok complain about how there are too many cars or how bad the traffic is but wouldn’t it be a frighteningly quiet city without the honking, cursing and deep bass sounds of molam music pumping from neon-lit tuk tuks? We imagine what Bangkok would look like, uninterrupted.

    A cut above

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 01/08/2014

» If your intention for the evening is to wander around town, spot this restaurant and pop in for a quick meal — forget it (because you’ll never find it). But if you’re looking for great steaks, an old-school menu and a chef with over 40 years of experience in the US, Knife & Fork Urban Bistro is undeniably worth the drive down the hidden soi. Everybody knows that dining in Thong Lor often leads to a debate about whether there’s actually any parking available or if you’ll have to walk home after being left penniless from all the fancy food and imported wine. It’s safe to say that Knife & Fork offers diners the best of both worlds with sheltered parking, enjoyable dishes and decent selections of Wagyu, Angus and even US Prime cuts — all for a price that won’t break your bank account.

    Insta-preneur

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 29/08/2014

» Two years ago, Nachapol “Nach” Triwongwaranat co-founded Instaprinta (www.instaprinta.me, fb.com/instaprintame), which has become a household name. Known for providing an exciting live Instagram printing experience for weddings and parties, the service enables attendees to go home with their very own Instagram photo printouts from the event. From programming and configuring the printers to marketing and approaching event agencies, the 26-year-old has now expanded Instaprinta to Singapore and Malaysia. But despite the seemingly primrose path ahead, this young entrepreneur isn’t ready to kick back and relax (just yet).

    Pets' best Friend

Guru, Jarupat Buranastidporn, Published on 08/08/2014

» As the director of Petpro (www.petpro.co.th, fb.com/petprosupermarket), Thitikhun “Ploy” Yoovidhya will stop at nothing to grow her pet empire. The 25-year-old’s first business was Pawpals, a mobile pet grooming service that gained much success especially with pet communities and pet owners who don’t have time to trim and groom their furry friends. Now she has embarked on a bigger venture with Thailand’s first pet supermarket Petpro, aiming to provide the country with the best pet products and services.
