Stocks gyrate as traders ponder life under Trump
Business, Published on 14/11/2016
» Recap: Global stock markets yo-yoed last week in response to Donald Trump's surprising US presidential election victory. US equities rose to record highs, led by financials, on expectations of lighter regulation and higher spending. But most markets elsewhere sank on concern that Mr Trump's stance against free trade and immigration could curb economic growth and increase geopolitical uncertainty. They also fear his spending plans will push up inflation, possibly triggering more aggressive rate increases by the Federal Reserve and prompting capital outflows from emerging markets.

To show your sympathies for the plights of your favourite artists, come show your support at Cat Radio's It's Me Cat Foodival featuring a staggering host of artists, bands and musicians across all genres of Thai music coming together to cook and sell various dishes inspired by their band's names or songs. Tickets cost 300 baht, and can be found at any 7-Eleven near you.

Charter vote lifts set in good week for stocks
Business, Published on 15/08/2016
» Recap: Asian stock markets advanced last week, buoyed by a big gain in US jobs in July and a slowdown in the decline of Chinese producer prices. The Thai stock market rallied as investors' confidence in political stability improved after voters endorsed the draft constitution by a margin of 61% to 39% in the Aug 7 referendum. The SET was closed on Friday so there has been no market reaction yet to a series of deadly bombings that hit five southern provinces.

Stocks move upward as us rate-hike concerns ease
Business, Published on 11/07/2016
» Recap: US Federal Reserve minutes suggesting it is likely to refrain from raising interest rates anytime soon, and hopes of fresh stimulus from central banks pushed up stock markets last week. However, a sharp fall in oil prices on Thursday trimmed some gains before surprisingly good US jobs data sparked a rally on Friday. Thai shares extended their gains.

Business, ShareInvestor, Published on 17/06/2016
» Since we listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 1994 we have aimed to be a very transparent organisation for all of our stakeholders. By being transparent, we can ensure that our stakeholders, including management, employees, partners, suppliers and shareholders, clearly understand the long-term goal to be a trusted global seafood company. As a result, we have been able to under-promise and over-deliver on the targets that TU has set over the past two decades, and we hope to continue doing so into the future.

» If you're a true foodie, you'll know Sukhumvit Soi 39 is, figuratively speaking, very savoury, with many eateries dotted along its intricate sub sois and alleys. Try Google Maps to see what we mean. Tucked away deep in the soi, Cocotte Farm Roast & Winery shares the same address with several notable restaurants inside the 39 Boulevard Building. This new kid on the block operates on noble principles, claiming that it prepares dishes using ingredients from organic farms and food artisans as much as possible.

Cautious tone from fed gives big lift to stocks
Business, Nuntawun Polkuamdee, Published on 04/04/2016
» Recap: The cautious tone of Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen's comments on the global economy that lessened prospects for a US interest-rate increase triggered a global stock market rally last week.
