Unwarranted charge

Oped, Postbag, Published on 07/11/2020

» After reading the forward vision of Bank of Thailand governor, Sethaput Suthiwart-Narueput, a few of us are a bit concerned. Is this a pretext of what's to come? Since THAI is majority-owned by the government, the government has a strong say in how to run THAI. Who is the government? At the top are the politicians who are in power. Rather, you are talking about the change in direction or inconsistency of policy at THAI when governments or those politicians in power change.

Smog of nepotism

News, Postbag, Published on 29/01/2020

» Having lived in Thailand for nearly 20 years, first as a visitor and then as a 15-year property owner, like any resident the words I fear most come when the government proclaims "full control" of a situation. It has been in "full control" during past droughts and floods, of air quality over time, and of the general well-being of all Thai people -- with dubious results each time.
