» In the middle of November, Danupha "Milli" Khanatheerakul, a Thai rapping sensation, released her 10-track album Babb Bum Bum (Extravagant) on YouTube. Most people recognise Milli as the singer who caused mango sticky rice sales to surge after she ate the dessert onstage at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the US. Babb Bum Bum proves that this 20-year-old rapper is not famous by chance. Milli is a versatile performer who works hard to achieve her goal.

» Hip-hop group Thaitanium made a "comeback" with a song called Por Mueng (I'm Your Dad) earlier this week. I put a quotation there because the song has been met with harsh backfire as its lyrics, which are both in Thai and English, contains explicit lines, which can be construed as misogynistic and condescending towards the younger generation of hip-hop artists.

» In March 1947, pianist and singer Cecil Grant heard Roy Brown sing Good Rockin' Tonight during a break at a small club in New Orleans. He was so taken with the song, he called the owners of De Luxe Records and had Brown sing the song over the phone.
