The recipe for reforming pensions

Oped, Published on 07/01/2022

» Pension reform is a thankless but necessary task. Pensions are a difficult and emotional subject that affects every citizen, and changing how they are calculated or when workers can retire involves negotiating a complex web of rules, habits, and entitlements that neat academic models do not capture.

The former was established in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly to encourage more girls and women to pursue studies and careers in science and technology. The latter celebrates the achievements of women in social, cultural, economic and political fields and advance gender parity. But these achievements will struggle to progress without increased participation of women in science, technology and innovation, especially in a highly digitalised post-pandemic world.

Possibly the worst job in the world?

News, Roger Crutchley, Published on 01/11/2020

» On the day Americans went to the polls four years ago the Miami Herald ran what must have been its shortest-ever editorial which simply read: "Her, Not Him, Enough Said". In light of what ensued, it must have been tempting to blame the proof-readers and come out the next day with: "Correction: Him Not Her."
