» Last week, I read about something really disturbing. Well, three things to be exact.

#SchoolRules

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 27/05/2016

» One of the things I hated most about school was lining up in the morning, as one of the teachers went on and on about things that didn't really matter. Or maybe they did -- I wasn't really listening.

Put a ring on it

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 13/05/2016

» Over the years, there have been so many new tools in yoga -- hoops, ropes, blocks, hammocks and more. And here's the latest addition yoga lovers should know about -- the Yoga Wheel.

#LookThep

» I was beyond relieved when those creepy lookthep dolls stopped making headlines. It was just too weird seeing people spending obscene money pampering a lifeless doll.

#Anniversary

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 08/04/2016

» I recently saw a Facebook friend of mine, a much younger girl still in university, celebrating her "three months anniversary" with her boyfriend. She made it as big a deal as getting married or something.

» Would you look at the calendar -- it's almost Songkran! Oh, long holiday, how I have missed you.

#CreativeTradition

» I was in an elevator with two university girls. One, I assume, was a Chinese-Thai, and the other was probably not. That's not the point. The point was, naturally, I eavesdropped.

#KeepOnFearing

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 30/10/2015

» We all had a lot of silly fears as a kid -- clowns, dogs, vegetables, certain relatives and even our own toys. As we grew up, most of those childish fears melted away, replaced by new, equally silly ones. Somehow, at age 30, we end up the same big scaredy cat we were as a five-year-old.

Bringing back the memories

Life, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 26/05/2015

» Nothing reminds me that I'm getting old (so are you, by the way) like seeing how much my former idols have aged, and the chances of realising this cruel fact has been quite high recently here in Bangkok, first with the Backstreet Boys' concert earlier this month, followed by Boyzone's performance on Sunday, soon to be followed by Blue next month. Should I also point out that some of these guys were popular when cassette tapes were still the mainstream medium?

LIFE

A dream to dye for

Muse, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 02/05/2015

» Sisters Wowdow and Raweeras Poocharoen and their friend Pornthip Patiluntakalkool look like they each belong to a different social scene. Wowdow, a 33-year-old softly-spoken interior designer, has a confident, mature personality, while her 26-year-old sister Raweeras is a young and hip artist type. Pornthip, 30, who has known the two for years, is a girly girl with an up-and-at-em character. Cool and composed, Wowdow was born and bred in America, while her artsy sister grew up in Chiang Mai. Pornthip, described by her two friends as a "go getter", was raised in Chantaburi province. Despite their diverse backgrounds, what the trio share is their passion for tie-dyed fabric, and the love for the brand they've built together.
