Divestment from Israel will not bring peace

News, Published on 27/05/2024

» The Oct 7 terrorist attack by Hamas has rightly generated enormous sympathy for the people of Israel, especially given Jews' history of persecution, culminating in the Holocaust. But the plight of civilians in Gaza since the attack is horrifying as well. Both sides need to support an immediate cessation of hostilities, followed by good-faith efforts to address the underlying issues.

Why EU Day matters for Thailand

Oped, Published on 09/05/2024

» The European Union was born out of war to prevent war in the future between historic enemies. Thailand between the US and China

Oped, Thitinan Pongsudhirak, Published on 29/03/2024

» Amid what now has to be acknowledged as a direct non-military conflict and a geoeconomic war of sorts between the United States and China, Thailand is in a quandary. While characterising Thailand's geostrategic dilemma as a US-China binary can be exaggerated and misleading, it does have a point. As with many other developing countries in the region, Thailand will come under increasing pressure to choose between the two competing superpowers. The ability not to choose thus becomes an overarching geostrategic objective.

We should listen to the Global South on Gaza
