» I was about a few years short of being able to apply for my driver's license when they announced they would no longer be offering lifelong permits. That means, for the rest of my life, I'm required to visit the Department of Land Transport every five years to renew this little white card that I've never really used — for which I am proud, as it means I've never been flagged down by traffic police!

» Rain. The word fills Bangkokians with fear, especially in rainy season. It can lead to so many unhappy incidents — horrendous hours-long traffic jams, power outages, fallen trees, floods, rodents on the run or just plain getting soaked from head to toe.

While most of them are pleasant and send me food on a regular basis, I've had my share of traumatising experiences that I can't seem shake out of my pretty head. I'm not just talking about PR people exclusively — the young(er) generation of office workers can also drive office aunties like me up the wall.
