A role reversal in this ship of fools

News, Voranai Vanijaka, Published on 04/08/2013

The story of a lese majeste prisoner

News, Voranai Vanijaka, Published on 21/07/2013

» Sometimes there's no need for commentary, the story speaks for itself. Allegations were made by Thanthawut Taweewarodomkul during a seminar last Sunday, recorded and put on YouTube, that ordinary red shirt prisoners and red shirt lese majeste convicts in particular are physically abused by guards and other prisoners; ignored by leaders of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD); and at the mercy of Pheu Thai-appointed lawyers who didn't know and didn't care about their cases.

Let the voice of reason prevail

Voranai Vanijaka, Published on 04/07/2013

» Having attended several rallies by the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) over the years, one thing has become abundantly clear - when on the stage, UDD chairwoman Tida Tawornseth doesn’t receive nearly the response and applause that Jatuporn Prompan does.

News, Voranai Vanijaka, Published on 23/06/2013

There are no 'buffaloes'

Voranai Vanijaka, Published on 20/06/2013

» In this heated political divide, the mud-slinging includes terms like "yellow/multi-colour buffalo fascists, brainwashed tools of the ammart" and "red buffalo thugs, brainwashed tools of Thaksin [Shinawatra]". Such insulting, derogatory branding is not only unfair and in poor taste, it’s also a gross generalisation that carries little truth.

Crooks come in all colours and masks

News, Voranai Vanijaka, Published on 16/06/2013

» The colour-coded kerfuffle surrounding the death of Akeyuth Anchanbutr makes a strong argument as to why we Thai people need to get a grip.

Lose the cloak of great stupidity

News, Voranai Vanijaka, Published on 09/06/2013

» There's a familiar joke about how most people are stupid. I disagree. Most people aren't stupid, but we all are capable of great stupidity, as well as wonderful brilliance. Unfortunately, the temptation toward great stupidity seems so irresistible.

OPINION

Guy Fawkes and the red Goliath

Voranai Vanijaka, Published on 06/06/2013

» It’s rather interesting, this Guy Fawkes phenomenon that has sprung up among the Thai social network populace who oppose Thaksin Shinawatra and the Pheu Thai regime.

OPINION

The mysterious men in black

Voranai Vanijaka, Published on 11/04/2013

» When analysing politics we should connect the dots as far as the dots (or our intellect) go, rather than stop at whichever dot satisfies our moral righteousness and ignore the rest. And we should be mindful of imaginary dots
