» Five activists were indicted this week on charges of attempted violence against HM the Queen during a demonstration last year, when a royal motorcade encountered dozens of protesters. The charges are very serious and if guilty, the protesters would be jailed for at least 16 years (BP, April 1).

» Re: "Don't knock the lockdowns" (PostBag, Jan 17). Before 2020 I had never heard of lockdowns, which were first introduced in Wuhan, China, a country many see as a totalitarian state. It was copied almost all over the world as a way to stem the disease. A few countries did not follow the Chinese path, including Sweden, which was heavily criticised for leaving schools, restaurants, etc. open.
