#Cheaters

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 18/12/2015

» Recently, newspapers in Thailand are all about one corruption scandal after another. It's as if politicians and authorities are holding their own, not-very-good-looking version of The Face Thailand -- dramas unfold every week, backs are stabbed and people are gotten rid of.

#BangkokDriversSyndrome

Guru, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 10/07/2015

» I was about a few years short of being able to apply for my driver's license when they announced they would no longer be offering lifelong permits. That means, for the rest of my life, I'm required to visit the Department of Land Transport every five years to renew this little white card that I've never really used — for which I am proud, as it means I've never been flagged down by traffic police!

#DesignProblems

» Although there is no set-in-stone rule as to when you should get married, chances are you'll be receiving two wedding invitations per year in your mid-20s, and about five per month as you approach 30. Diego Gronda, managing and creative director of Rockwell Group Europe, a globally celebrated design company, said it’s the kind of movie theatre that does not sell movies — it sells the experience.

Don’t hate the player — hate the game

Life, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 20/02/2014

» It is funny how either Thaksin or Suthep is blamed for virtually everything today. Recently, when the lights went out momentarily in my community, one of my neighbours cursed: “Thaksin is behind this. What an evil man, making people suffer like this!” When stuck in the usual traffic in front of a mall a few weeks back, the taxi driver complained: “Damn those protestors. Suthep is making us all suffer! He’s behind everything!”

Fashion meets film

Life, Napamon Roongwitoo, Published on 30/08/2013

» Fashion and film drink from the same wellspring of glamour, fantasy, design and visual art. They share the same ancestral influence and the same uncanny ability to both mirror and push the bounds of everyday reality. Their marriage isn't new, but now for the first time it will become evident on the big screen.
