OPINION

Building capacity where it counts

Oped, Mariana Mazzucato & Rainer Kattel, Published on 06/10/2025

» After years of underinvestment, governments around the world are struggling to keep pace with growing demands. The consequences are now widely evident, as underfunded and unprepared public agencies falter whenever crises strike. The problem is not "slimming" government down, but rather rendering it more capable, strategic, outcome-oriented and a good partner in solving the greatest problems of our time: providing adequate housing for all, strengthening climate resilience and ensuring that technology makes all our lives better, not just a few "bros" richer.

Editorial, Published on 20/07/2025

» After a long silence during Thailand's biggest sex scandal in the clergy, the Ecclesiastical Council and the National Office of Buddhism (NOB) have finally spoken out. Their big idea? A new law to imprison the offending monks and women involved in the scandal.

Oped, Kavi Chongkittavorn, Published on 17/06/2025

OPINION

The world is warming up faster than ever

News, Gwynne Dyer, Published on 10/02/2025

» I'm very cross with myself. My last two articles were about Donald Trump saying he might invade Greenland, and then about Mr Trump declaring that he would annex Canada (but no threat of physical violence so far, just extreme economic pressure).

News, Vitit Muntarbhorn, Published on 06/01/2025

» Back in 2007, the government agreed to be a party to the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, otherwise known as the "CAT".
