» As a supporter of youth empowerment and safe sport participation, Unesco is saddened by the death of 13-year-old Muay Thai (Thai boxing) fighter Anucha Thasako. Despite the efforts of the medical team at Samutprakan Hospital, Anucha died after he was knocked out in a Muay Thai ring in Thailand's Samut Prakan province last Saturday. His death is both a personal tragedy and also adds urgency to the campaign for safeguarding youth in all sports.
