Aren't there still flights leaving out of Utapao down in Rayong? A really lovely part of the South-east there. Good clean beachs and clear water, (whenever Mapthaput has a few megalitres to spare ). I heard that there's some kind of bridge across some strait from Singapore to KL, but it could have been an April Fool's joke. So what's wrong with landing at Changi and hopping on a tredley up to Hat Yai? In fact, Hat Yai airport might be still open, unless I've missed something. Still there was a report in the paper earlier today about 3.5 million feint-of-hearts opting out next year, which was around 250% over the SARS predicament. Personally, I don't understand what all the fuss is about - it's not stopping the backpackers crossing in from Vientiane is it? ---ooo--- Seriously though, another coup would have been more of a tourist attraction than this. Someone told me they called a truce on Christmas back at Gallipoli once. Might be sensible to take that old idea and see where it might lead to this time...
