ยป Hi all, Ive been trying to read everything I could about bringing Thai girlfriends over to America, but most topics I've come across have been about marrying them when they arrive. Here is my situation: I met my girlfriend in Thailand earlier this year. We talk at least an hour a day, email,...

Have her complete the paperwork, pay her fees and hope for the best. The primary concern is that she returns to Thailand at the end of her visit. That belief is fortified by title deeds, parents, jobs, education money in the bank. You can send a letter to explain where she will be staying, but your help will be minimal. She needs to stand on her own, supply documentaltion for each of the questions asked on the application. Don't lie and don't try to be clever, straight forward works best, the embassy staff has seen it all, answer as best she can "Why will you return to Thailand?"

However, to be quite honest with you, her age of only 21-22 probably gives her a chance of below 50% of the VISA passing. I'm not sure if the process has changed yet but when I went to get a VISA 10 years ago, you go through 2-3 levels of interviews. 1st.: A thai staff to make sure you have submitted all the required documents and those docs. are in order. If not, she'll send you back. If the docs. looks "fishy" to her/him, they might reject the application right off. 2nd/3rd: the applicant is interviewed by an Amercian staff. Some of them make you feel that you are being grilled in a questioning room by a detective. If the figures don't add to them or they feel she/he (especially if a she) is high potential "flight risk"; or if he just had a lousy night with a bad hangover, the applicant can be rejected. If passes this portion, I THINK it gets a looking over once more to crunch the figures to see whether the person is a "flight risk" or not. Anyways, good luck! Sardines
