Only one way out

» It is tedious work and, as the old adage has it, “like pulling teeth”. But slowly and, one hopes, surely the political mood is changing on both sides. The hardline and simplistic opinions of last year are slowly evolving into more careful and more realistic policies. There is a lot of work and many dangerous bridges to cross before the current impasse can be resolved. But thinking people on both sides of the divide are fast coming to the realisation that compromise is necessary.
