    How will you ever know?

By Anonymous, Created on: 08/08/2007, Last updated on: 02/08/2009

» How will you know if your marriage to your beautiful Thai wife is for real or a marriage of convenience? From my little experience of just divorcing my wicked charlatan Thai wife as all she wanted was an ILR (UK visa) and divorce money. I am questioning how many men on the planet are/have also been...

Is it normal to pick up the bride at midnight on the wedding day?

By Anonymous, Created on: 06/08/2007, Last updated on: 17/06/2009

» My Thai girlfriend and I planned to get married in Jan next year. Her parents went to an astrologer to find a good date and time for our wedding. Finally the date and time have been determined. However, it seemed a little bit strange to me about the time that astrologer picked. I was told that...

    • Anonymous commented : her name for "our" future. OK it is symbolic because I could in theory never see, use or benefit from the land. But all agreed. Then after having sent the money (from BKK wher we live to...yup, the NE) the price of land began to skyrocket, and I becamse suspicious, to say the least. After just over amonth I pretty much inistsed to have the money returned and used differently for "our" future. Good news/bad news. The money was returned to my bank account. Minus 18,000 baht. "Pa had to pay the rice farmers". Thais need symbols of status, especially the poorer ones. Dowries and cars (4x4 - 4 foor Toyota or Isuzu pickups galore) and big fancy houses. never mind if the dowry s returned next day; if the truck stays parked outside the house 95% of the time, or; if the house has 5 bedrooms for three people. It's all symbolic.

    • Anonymous commented : u have to save money for your future bride so you cannot spend it all at the gate, etc. Don't take these matter too seriously. It is just your life ahead that matters. Thai womam

Getting my Thai girlfriend to America just for a two-week visit?

By Anonymous, Created on: 10/07/2007, Last updated on: 28/09/2007

» Hi all, Ive been trying to read everything I could about bringing Thai girlfriends over to America, but most topics I've come across have been about marrying them when they arrive. Here is my situation: I met my girlfriend in Thailand earlier this year. We talk at least an hour a day, email,...

    • Anonymous commented : er to get a VISA "in the future" for the U.S. when you have free time for vacations, instead of going to Phuket, Sumui, Pattaya, etc. you can spend almost similar amount to go to HK, Singapore instead. What this does is it gives physical evidence on her passport that she has gone abroad (more than once if possible) on tourist VISA to other countries and have come back on time. Try to continue these vacations abroad when possible. The more Visa entries on her passport, the more it convinces the U.S. immigration going over her case that she is a low "risk factor". I have a lot of entries on my own passport to several countries. Whenever I have to get a new Visa for a new country, it's a breeze. Thailand is still considered a 3rd world country or at least "less developed nation". It is always more difficult to get Visa abroad to more "developed" nations. It's just a fact of life for us here. rgds / sardines

    • Anonymous commented : high opinion of myself or my future wife, as I'm not! All I was doing was telling the people on here about my situation, but as we all know, our points, views and opinions on a web forum can come across the wrong way, so I'm sorry myself for coming across an "IDIOT" as some of you maybe thinking.lol and AD, no I don't look down on bar girls, I do have respect for some of them as they're trying to make a living, and yeah like you said were unfortunate to have been born into a very poor family. I do appriciate what I have in my life and the relationship I have with my girlfriend. Some of you on here have good things to say, but when some of you judge someone from what they have said on a forum board, thats when it becomes a joke. This topic has gone way of course.lol. Maybe someone should start a new topic ;) Well, hope you're all having a good day, I can't wait for the rain to pass.

    • Anonymous commented : ng married, we will do in the future, and yes I'm only 24 (soon to be 25) but I don't think thats too early. As for a job, like I said before, her father is the head master at the school, and has now gave me a job there. Thanks for all the comments, I do read each one and I think about what you all say, but me and my girlfriend is not one of the couples you see, an old white man with a young uneducated thai bar girl. We are totally the opposite :)
