It’s time for 3D technology...

» Can someone help me with this please? My father is an American who went overseas to work. He is making pretty good money. He has been there for about 4 years and has traveled to other countries when on his r&r. Thailand has become his favorite vacation spot. He is 52 years old and divorced...

    • Anonymous commented : I would like to thank everyone for their input. It is much appreciated. I would like to add that this is out of character for my dad. He and I have always had a wonderful relationship. He has always been a very family oriented person. I am probably being over emotional about him moving away the way he did, but girls are allowed to be overly emotional, I think. I miss him terribly and really wish he would come home but also want him to be happy. I have refrained from making negative comments about his wife, I don't know her. At the same time, I have always been able to talk to him, argue with him, and we make up and continue on. This time he has completely written me off. He won't speak to me or email me. It is especially hard during the holiday season. So to set the record straight, my motivation for caring for my dad's welfare, I don't want his money, just his time and love. He told me that he purchased property but not any details except somewhere in Udon Thani. He won't tell me who she is, what she does for a living, if anything. And he won't tell me when or where they got married. Does anyone know if Thailand has public records or something where I could find any information. Again, thank you for your helpful comments. Crystal

» In Thailand, children take care of their parents. They kind of pay back the debt that they contracted just by being born and educated by their parents. And contrary to "popular" belief, it is valid whether you are rich or poor (but of course far more meaningful if the parents are poor...)....

    • Anonymous commented : the spring. The water is crystal clear and cool. I have carried that fond memory up until today . It would be nice if TL has both hot & cold spring. May be I dream too much ? A choice between a condo or a townhouse? I will leave that until I had lived in that town for at least half year. I have to get use to the life of normad while I still on the quest for my idle place. You have given me the best advice about the rule #1 not to show off my living in the USA. It' so true about my Thai-lish. I always act very humble, but my Thai speaking has a slightly accent. Also the way I carry myself ( posture and walking) gives me away sometimes. I'm gratefull for your advice.
