    Give them your audio

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 19/05/2017

» It's easy to take a lot of things for granted, especially those of us who have such easy access to the most important things in life. Education is one of those things and while we can moan about boring teachers and homework, there are those who would give anything to have the same education that's so easily available to many. Pond Sinlaparatsamee, a third-year student from the Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts at Assumption University of Thailand is heading a project named "Voice Out", and hopes to raise awareness about the lack of educational audiobooks available for the visually impaired. » Every year, the city of San Diego is the host to thousands upon thousands of geeks and nerds that converge for one reason and one reason only: the San Diego Comic-Con. Arguably the Con of all Cons, SDCC is nothing short of geek heaven and has become the place to make major announcements, whether it be movies or TV shows, that send the hallowed walls of Hall H trembling with the screams and squeals of fanboys and fangirls contained therein. This year's Comic-Con certainly didn't disappoint. Here's some of the biggest things that came out of SDCC 2017 and here's to hoping we have a Con that's at least half as good as SDCC here in Bangkok.

» 2017 has been the year of women speaking up and standing up for themselves. Hosting events like social dinners, workshops and panels, AKIN ASIA creates opportunities for networking and a space for women to share and discuss ideas. All Roads Lead to Romain

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 23/03/2018

» If you saw him walking down the street, you'd think he's your typical working farang living in the Big Mango. But Romain Guiot is a chef in a restaurant that he owns, the co-owner of an art gallery/tattoo shop/bar, and a distributor of a German spray paint product and he's only been living in Bangkok for four years. Not surprisingly, he studied French cuisine, fine arts and mechanical engineering to work on wind turbines back in Europe before deciding to travel around Southeast Asia and finally settling in Bangkok, where he also had a brief stint teaching yoga. He's cooking up new ventures so Guru caught up with him to talk about his restaurant, Outlaw Creative Cuisine, and Maison Close, the art gallery/tattoo shop/bar, and future projects.

» The latest entry to the Far Cry franchise is finally here after much anticipation. Its predecessor, Far Cry 4, delivered a pretty ruthless villain, a gorgeous open-world environment, but a story that didn't appeal to some and a gameplay that was criticised as being too similar to the previous game. The question now is whether Far Cry 5 avoided these pitfalls.

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 14/12/2018

» Netflix has taken over all of our lives and we've sat back and welcomed it. "Netflix and chill" is now meant in the literal sense rather than being used as a euphemism back in the day i.e. a year or so ago. With the recent boom of the streaming service, it's no surprise that they show no signs of stopping. Having released a huge amount of new content this year, they also announced exciting releases for 2019 at the "What's Next" event at Singapore recently, with series from Thailand, too.
