» US federal authorities seized nine US-hosted websites and froze the assets of 15 webmasters and others; it was the first shot in "Operation in Our Sites" which the US government launched to combat piracy and counterfeiting on the Internet; filespump.com and eight other similar sites were pumping out movies, software and other illegal warez, including hosting the actual files being downloaded; according to a spokesman for ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement), "If the criminals move overseas, we will follow" - and he said there were hundreds of similar sites; according to traffic monitors alexa.com, sites like Filespump were even more popular in Thailand (rank 745) than in the US, where it was barely in the top 1,000 most-visited websites.
