The new vehicle excise tax will be based on carbon dioxide emissions, E85-gasohol compatibility and fuel efficiency which means only those who go for eco-friendly cars will not be affected by higher taxes.

» The recent English proficiency ranking by EF Education First, the international educational company, revealed that Thailand ranked 62nd out of 70 countries where English is not the most spoken language, placing Thailand as the third worst country in Asia when it comes to English communication skills. The result is obviously unpleasant even though the figures do not come as a major surprise to many Thais.

Bus hub move can halt terminal decline

» The Ministry of Transport recently decided to move the bus terminal for Thailand's Northern and Northeastern bus routes, currently at Mor Chit, out of town to the Rangsit area. The relocation of the bus hub is expected to be complete within the next two years.
