Marry in Thailand 1st then Apply for Immigrant Visa to USA

By Anonymous, Created on: 15/05/2004, Last updated on: 23/09/2007

» I'm an US citizen living here in Northern California. I plan to get married sometime next year in Thailand to a Thai woman who works as a registered nurse, as she plans on moving here in the US afterwards. I researched the US consulate in Bangkok and US Immigration (USCIS.gov) and sort of understand...

Fortunately, he had many such photos, since she is the daughter of family friends, and they have known each other practically all their lives. We will have a traditional Thai wedding in November followed by a civil ceremony in the U.S. in December. This is exactly what my husband and his now-ex-wife did when they married 33 years ago.

Otherwise Thai court always favor Thai people and rule your marriage is MOKA (nullifying marriage). However the best bondage is how strong your bride is bound to you. Girl is girl. If they feel they are loved tightly and securely by you, they do not leave you. They reject their parents and try to raise new family, you and your children. This is the real humane face and what all of us pursue.

    British Embassy in Bangkok

By Anonymous, Created on: 05/10/2004, Last updated on: 25/02/2011

» In March, my Thai partner wanted to visit me in London. Before granting a visa, the Embassy wanted a mountain of paperwork including proof of my income, whether or not I woned my own home and a whole lot of other things. At this stage, I have to say that we have many controversial issues in the UK...

    • Anonymous commented : Hi All, I wanted to add my experience. I have a Thai girlfriend and I am 26 years old. I submitted 22 pages of documentation 2 months ago , details of both our University Education, Jobs, Salaries, 12 months paycheques, Bank Statements, Passport Pictures, Photos, a 3 page sponsorship letter, signatures from my parents etc etc. Taan also submitted details of her mothers businesses and documents proving she had to be back in Thailand and would not be of risk to UK immigration. Anyway she went to teh embassy in BKK, she speaks fluent German and English, got a 5 month Visa in 1 hour even though she only wanted a 2 week stay, and we had a great time last month at my house in the UK. It helps that we both have Master's Degrees, healthy salaries and impressive CV's. I was worried about her being able to obtain a tourist visa prior to the visit, owing to many stories I had read and heard, but when I spent time collating all the relevant documentation, it all worked out fine. I have seen many guys trying to have relationships with bar girls and it is often messy. I've witnessed friends sleeping with girls who get texts from the UK or US from their fiance's etc, usually saying something like '' hi honey I miss you , can't wait to be married/with you... etc'' , subsequently the girl replies and then roles over and falls back asleep next to her one night stand. Generally If I worked for UK Immigration and was interviewing a guy who was 10 years + older than his Thai lady friend , I would be very dubious as to her intensions and also her integrity. Lets be fair , no matter how cute they are and how great the body language and general loved up chit chat is, a Thai girl with an older guy is usually a relationship based on security and financial gain. As for the Embassy in BKK, it's a damn tough job dealing with so many ridiculous visa apps, and I respect anyone who would take on such a task day in day out. BR Rich

    • Anonymous commented : ecomendation from my employer, photos of everywhere we've been together in thailand, the marriage certificate, everything translated into english, even my p45 and p60's.we first met in 2003 for a fornight in november,i returned in sept 2004 and apart from two months in 2005 we have been together every hour of every day.we got married on april 6th this year(traditional thai wedding) in my wifes home.on the 21st we returned to Bangkok to register the wedding at the amphur.we did it in Bangkok because i had to go to the embassy to get an afformation signed, for the amphur. At the same time we made our visa application.why return to Bangkok when you can do it all in one go? i thought.Three long months later we're at the embassy with all the documents, nerves shredded because of all the stories we've heard.........and i can say there all true.my wife was interviewed by a very ignorant and abusive english woman, who after initially looking my wife up and down like a piece of dirt refused to look at her again while conducting the interview.didnt look at any of the photos or docs we provided......well only flicked thruogh the photos.....too quikley to see what any of them were, and mixed up all the carefully prepared origional paperwork with the copies before stuffing them back in the envelope we sent them in.long story short......my wife was refused her visa on the grounds we hadnt kept text messages etc from 2003! we had two letters my wife had sent me in 2003 the dates on the stamps proved this, but the eco refused to look at them and said that wasnt enough.who keeps phone bills for two years????the reason we couldnt provide more phone bills etc as proof is because weve been living together!!!!!!!!!!! the eco said she didnt believe my wife and me had met in 2003,but had just met this tear and werent going to live together as man and wife in the uk....CRAP!!!!!!! i understand about all the non genuine applications there are......the amount of 60 year old men waiting outside for their 20 year old girlfriends proves that; One man i spoke to from england was nearing retirement age and had only ever seen his 25 year old girlfriend three times before. They were using an agency for their application....and were no doubt accepted, whereas our (in my eyes) more genuine application was flatly refused.we are now considering using an agancy too "i garantee she goes 100 %!! i garantee she goes 100%!!" as the lady at the agancy said. What do you have to do????????????????

enry into the u.k. for thai girlfriends/partners

By Anonymous, Created on: 02/01/2005, Last updated on: 07/06/2006

» I started out trying to help my Thai employee (with a British passport) to bring her twenty two year old daughter to the U.K. for a family visit. Thought it would be a breeze. Mother rents a single room so I offered my family home for daughter to stay in during visit. I've heard stories about the...

    • Anonymous commented : D the envelopes they came in. photos, scraps of paper - EVERYTHING. It all adds to your chances. I have it on good authority, from my MP, that this is possibly the worst time you could pick to apply to bring in a non EU person. Politically, the subject is very sensitive and that's not to mention the terrorism threats (real or perceived). You may also want to consider the way of the Chinese. They mamange to come in by firstly going to study/live in an EU country that is not as strict as the U.K. Belgium or Ireland for example. Once in these countries they apply for the right to remain and then make the easy EU hop into the U.K. More advice - if you can find a way around the legal route then take it. The British Embassy in Bangkok is still rife with corruption and bribery. It really doesn't pay to be legal these days! I wish I'd known this before I started to do things the 'proper' way! Good Luck.

    • Anonymous commented : I have read a fair bit on this forum & am concerned.. My Thai fiancee(36) has her 'fiancee visa' interview in a couple of weeks & i will be flying out to be with her. She does not earn much, but i do have sufficient funds to support her if she were to get to the UK. If she 'WERE' to get a visa, then i will bring her back with me to the UK. From what i have read, i am not holding up much hope. But there are a couple of questions i have before going out to Thailand. 1) Is there any other information, other than everything that was requested, that it is worth me taking out. I supplied all Photo's & SMS's & any evidence i had, to the date of the application & I will be taking all evidence i have & updated evidence with me. 2) With regard to the corruption within the embassy, has anyone had experience of this & if so what sort of amounts have people paid. Do the embassy people ask you, or do you have to offer it to them? I need to prepare for this in case this comes up. Thanks in advance for any responses. Cliff PS: feel free to email direct if sensitive info is not wanted to be made public.

    Solar Power

By Anonymous, Created on: 29/03/2005, Last updated on: 31/03/2015

» I dont understand why Thailand is not using the sun which is there 365 days/year. Can anybody tell me ? I am in the process of building a house but when it comes to solar energy i might have to import myself to only then be confronted with a high import tax on such products. And that while closing...

But I digressed. Except for passive solar (building) designs and hot water heating, solar takes up too much money and space for what part time power it provides. The mirrors or panels must be constantly cleaned or the efficiency degrades. Doesn't work when it's cloudy, doesn't work when it rains or snow, or blowing sand/dust. It's expensive to start up and ROI takes 20 years or more, often times never. Great for places with a lot of unusable space and not much cloud, rain, or sand/dust storm. Not that I don't like the technology or anything. I'm just saying that solar has inherent issues that may never be resolved no matter how much tax money is thrown at it. One spring weekend 2 years ago I went to Doi Chieng Dao. A beautiful place with the view of an entire valley below, trees a blooming, flowers everywhere. There was a small solar array feeding a battery bank and inverter to power the park facility at the top. At this elevation, the fog often envelopes everything until noon. We pitched our tents and, after dinner, all of us were having a rather pleasant evening snoring away until.... at Zero effing dark hundred, in the dead silence of the effing night, the god effing loud enough to wake the effing dead '[i:aa94gqii]battery bank voltage is low[/i:aa94gqii]' alarm went off and stayed on until someone shut it off around 8 AM. Good thing I took my iPod along. Nobody else got any sleep however.

Do You Support Your Thai In-Laws?

By Anonymous, Created on: 02/03/2006, Last updated on: 14/02/2007

» In Thailand, children take care of their parents. They kind of pay back the debt that they contracted just by being born and educated by their parents. And contrary to "popular" belief, it is valid whether you are rich or poor (but of course far more meaningful if the parents are poor...)....

    • Anonymous commented : ll, you should keep notes and photos for your children/family and for future references for other people. Maybe and someday, I might public a book or books on some topic about SEA and other topics.
