» To celebrate Central Embassy's 5th anniversary, New York-based design studio Snarkitecture has set up a minimalist yet fun art installation on the shopping mall's Ground Level. Dubbed Tilting Forest, the second installation by Snarkitecture after The Beach in 2017, it places a number of blue-and-white towering cones where people can wander about, get lost and even push the cones to move them as if they are swaying trees. Benjamin Porto, a partner at Snarkitecture, spoke to Guru about the project.

» The Last of Us was a groundbreaking game that took players through an emotional story with nail-biting tension due to trying to sneak around undetected and also having a number of good scares provided by the zombie-like creatures known simply as the Infected. In fact, the game was so good that Neil Druckmann, the game's director, admitted that he was wary of making a sequel. Obviously, they figured out a way to continue the story and make another game that would hopefully satisfy players worldwide. But does it?

» Though the year has felt like it's dragged on, it's gone by pretty quick. It's December and we're a few weeks shy of 2021. Of course, with the festive season comes decorations all over the city. » Did you know that there's a nationwide celebration coming up soon? Thai National Flag Day is to be celebrated this coming September 28. If you weren't aware of that, we don't blame you. This is the first time Thailand is going to be celebrating it to commemorate 100 years since King Rama VI declared the design we know today as the country's official flag. Sure, it might not be a legit holiday, but hey, it's all about being patriotic.

Lend a hand

» In a world where everything seems bleak, we try our best to find some sort of escape. Whether or not this is simply denial of reality is something we won't delve into (we're Guru, we don't do existential crises). But with the stress of the real world and our quest to discover things that would temporary alleviate what we feel, we seldom ask the question, "What can I do to make the world a little better?." It may seem cliché but there are a number of little things you can do and it's not all about volunteering in a dense forests where you have to sleep in rickety tents with no toilets (shudder) all for the sake of saving Mother Earth. There are simple things like buying something online, adopting a doggo or even go shopping that can help a cause. This week, we've got some causes that you can get behind.
