Xiaomi sale nets B11bn

Life, James Hein, Published on 22/04/2015

» In a recent Asian sale the Chinese electronics manufacturer Xiaomi sold more than 2 million phones and a range of other electronic devices including over 200,000 MI Bands (like a FitBit). Leveraging off new deals in India they did all of this and more in a 12 hour period. Xiaomi was also smart enough to apply localisation features and add software relevant to the local markets to their phones, something others have often failed to do well. The total received for the sale over the period was around 11 billion baht across India, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Beware getting caught on the net

Life, Sasiwimon Boonruang, Published on 03/07/2012

» I have no idea if there's still someone out there who uses a computer without logging on to the internet. The internet has become the "default" mode whenever we sit down in front of a terminal and press a keyboard. No matter if it's for work or pleasure, the internet has automatically become part of our daily lives. Not just for searching for information or contacting people, I buy books, browse for stuff for my kids, and book air tickets, all online. It would be more and more difficult now to find someone who's never shopped or done a transaction online.
