Guru, Nianne-Lynn Hendricks, Published on 05/10/2023
» We all complain about the rising prices of flights, domestic and international. Koh Samui being one of the places where the airfare has slowed tourism post-Covid. Yet, it is worth every penny once you get there. Especially if you stay at Explorar Resorts, which is on Mae Nam Beach.

Guru, Nianne-Lynn Hendricks, Published on 29/08/2023
» Vietnam, deemed to be the next tourist hotpot in Southeast Asia, is busy. If you can get past the online visa hassles (should you need it), which require at least 10-15 days application in advance to be on the safer side, nothing like a mini break to revive the soul. Enter Danang, the popular resort and casino town with an endless coastline that stretches far beyond the eye line.

Guru, Nianne-Lynn Hendricks, Published on 20/04/2023
» I will never tire of going to Bali (does one ever?), despite the lengthy immigration queues and long baggage claim wait. Though it is Ubud that I am most fond of. Apart from the quaint little town, Ubud offers a plethora of choices in the private retreat vein and Viceroy Bali is no exception.

» The Maldives might seem an unlikely place to go on a spiritual and wellness retreat. Though, when you think of it, the place is made up of atolls, surrounded by water, and water is an essential part of being human.

» What better way to break the cycle of first-time travel after almost three years of being stuck in Thailand, than a trip to a new resort in Vietnam. Da Nang is often seen as the weekend beach retreat for the Vietnamese, with its never-ending coastline and casinos. Though further up the coast, an hour's drive away, lies an unspoilt beachfront paradise -- Hoiana, which is also Vietnam's first integrated resort.

A cool summer
Guru, Nianne-Lynn Hendricks, Published on 27/05/2022
» I would not be lying if I said I enjoyed the lack of foreign tourists in the last two years, and that is simply because it made holiday islands like Samui more accessible to domestic tourists like me. Though this may be at the detriment of the resorts and other businesses on the island. Koh Samui, with its vast stretches of beaches and pristine turquoise waters, is no stranger to luxury resorts, W Samui on Mae Nam Beach being one of them.

Banyan Tree Krabi opened in October 26, 2020 on Tab Kaek Beach and is SHA-Plus credited, making it a retreat for foreign tourists, as well. The three ultra-exclusive beachfront pool villas, 10 beachfront pool villas and 59 pool suites, each with a private infinity pool, have a westward-facing view of sunset over the Andaman Sea.

A sense of peace
Guru, Nianne-Lynn Hendricks, Published on 11/09/2020
» Since my last vacay was at Amandari in Bali, it seemed fitting that the first holiday I took post-lockdown should be at Amanpuri in Phuket. Though this wasn't my first time at the resort, it certainly felt like it!
