LIFE

Trang's beauty shines through in stormy weather

B Magazine, Suthon Sukphisit, Published on 17/06/2012

» When tourists hear mention of Krabi, Phuket or Phangnga, the first thing that they think of is probably the sea. All three provinces have broad beaches with fine white sand and emerald-green water. There are many little islands ideal for swimming or sunbathing and from November until April there is rarely any rain, just cloudless, blue skies. During these months, tourists both foreign and Thai flock to the three provinces.

Savour the charm, Warmth and seafood of ban sakha

B Magazine, Suthon Sukphisit, Published on 10/03/2013

» There are places whose charm does not lie in any historical monument, gorgeous beach or other obvious tourist attraction, but rather in the local style and special atmosphere on offer. When rushing around in a big city, it is easy to forget that there are small towns nearby where people spend their days in the same traditional and unhurried way they did in the past.

Back to basics: Tracking down the best ingredients

B Magazine, Suthon Sukphisit, Published on 04/08/2013

» Cooks need three things to prepare any given dish: the right cooking equipment, prepared ingredients including condiments and sauces, dried chillies and the like, and fresh ingredients such as meat, fish and vegetables.

I do like to be beside the seaside

B Magazine, Suthon Sukphisit, Published on 02/02/2014

» Thailand's cool season only lasts two or three months, and only gets really chilly when fronts of cold air come down from China. These cold snaps usually only last for a short period of time, however, so tourists who want to immerse themselves in the cool season weather like to head to the North, or to Khao

On song in Songkhla

Suthon Sukphisit, Published on 18/05/2014

» Last week I began a tour of the South in Phatthalung. Today I’d like to continue on to Songkhla by crossing the bridge and elevated road across Thalay Noi in Phatthalung to Amphoe Ranote in Songkhla. The road is wide and smooth, and the route is direct.

A fond foodie farewell

B Magazine, Suthon Sukphisit, Published on 01/06/2014

» Last week was Satun, this week we’re off to Trang, the final stage of my tour of the South. This province isn’t one of the top tourist destinations like Krabi, Phangnga or Phuket, but it is ideal for those who prefer a quiet spot with beautiful beaches without mobs of tourists swarming around, a place where they can spend time looking at interesting local attractions and finding good things to eat.

A cool time to eat crab

B Magazine, Suthon Sukphisit, Published on 25/01/2015

» In Thailand, the cool season lasts for three or four months, but during that time there are only a couple of weeks when it really gets cold. To make the most of it, many people head to the North or to Isan to experience the chilly weather at its most extreme. Those are the parts of the country where the temperature takes the biggest plunge, and where they will be able to wear the cold-weather clothing that has been hanging in the closet all year.

Off the beaten Trat

B Magazine, Suthon Sukphisit, Published on 06/09/2015

» If you were to tell 100 people that you had just come back from a short vacation in Trat province, all of them would assume that you’d gone to Koh Chang, because tourists think of that island as a slice of paradise. There are more than 200 hotels on Koh Chang, and white sandy beaches and dive spots with gorgeous coral. Seafood restaurants, bars and entertainment spots abound, so it is no wonder that you see as many tourists strolling around on Koh Chang as you do on Silom Road in Bangkok.

The South's bypassed beauties

» The South of Thailand is full of intrigue and mystique for explorers. Despite its reputation for being rain-soaked, the region can be enjoyed across all seasons.

Feel at home in sunshine state

B Magazine, Suthon Sukphisit, Published on 16/07/2017

» I would like to introduce Florida, one of the most popular tourist attractions in the US. This entire state has so much to offer Thai tourists who are not fans of Western winters. The weather here is just like in southern Thailand. Beaches, the sea and trees are like those in Phuket and Phangnga. Many beautiful white yachts look so good against the crystal blue background of the sea and sky.
