» Last week, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Tourism Authority Thailand announced that 8,745 people from Surin province succeeded in setting a new record of "the highest number of people folding fabric animals simultaneously" in the Guinness World Record. This event was part of the Elephant Festival, an annual event in Surin. Organised by the Surin provincial administration and TAT, the event of folding fabric into elephant dolls aimed to boost tourism since numbers had dropped due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Organisers also hoped the event would promote Surin fabric, which is a signature product of the province.

» Residents of the Mahakan Fort Community were evicted from their homes in 2017 after the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) decided to turn the historic area into a public park. Before everything was torn down, Bangkok Sketcher, a group of artists who draw on location, visited the site to capture the final moments of the community. Three urban sketchers in the group -- Suppachai Vongnoppadondacha, aka Louis Sketcher, Pitirat Yoswattana and Sompong Ngamsangrat -- were overwhelmed to witness the scene and were drawn to the architectural structures that would soon be demolished.

» After K-pop singer Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa, of the famous girl group Blackpink visited MQQN Cafe in Bangkok, its owner thought everything she touched would turn to gold. He started posting photos of Lisa on the cafe's Facebook page, bragging that someone wanted to buy a sofa on which the sexy star sat, before saying he in fact wasn't satisfied with the price offered. Then he joked about selling other things Lisa used during her visit, such as a glass, a spoon, a napkin and even a toilet seat.

» Funny photos taken at supermarkets and convenience stores across Thailand were circulated on New Year's Day, showing customers carrying unusual containers like a construction cart, a cement bag, a plastic bucket and even a stainless-steel cooking pot to use as substitutes for plastic bags.
