» All of a sudden, in my subconscious, I overheard that famous catch-phrase from "Black Superman", the cheeky song written by Johnny Wakelin: "I'm Ali, catch me if you can". It appeared to blow in from the direction of Wat Dhammakaya, aka the "Flying Saucer" temple in Pathum Thani province.

» Each generation hails its youth as the hope of the country. But are they? I do not have the answer. But given the latest Abac opinion poll about corruption perception of the people in general, and Thai youth in particular, the findings are very disturbing.

Truth commission readies its final report

» Unless there is an abrupt change of schedule, the Truth for Reconciliation Commission of Thailand (TRCT) will today release its final report on the political protests by the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship, the red shirts, during April and May 2010 which descended into violence and a military crackdown, leaving 92 people dead, including two protesters in Udon Thani and one in Khon Kaen.
