Doodler dream
Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 01/02/2019
» They say a picture is worth 1,000 words but perhaps this classic idiom needs an update. Let's go with, "a Line sticker is worth 1,000 words and some cash too if you know how to make them". Mouthful, I know, but read on and all will become clear.

Happy Mother's Day
Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 09/08/2019
» Dear Facebook mums, I've seen all of your cute posts regarding your children and motherhood. I just want to say thank you for reminding me how difficult it is to incubate a human being inside you for nine months and raise them afterwards. That's a lifelong commitment, which I have no intention to get myself into.

No sugar, no cry
Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 23/08/2019
» Bangkok has seen many alternative diets. You can go vegetarian, vegan, paleo, gluten-free and now you can add ketogenic diet to the healthy/picky bunch. Ketogenic or keto for short, is high in fat, adequate in protein and low in carbohydrates. The diet is used to treat epilepsy but it's also known for forcing the body to burn fat for fuel rather than carbs. If the ratio between fat, protein and carb of the diet is a bit much to wrap your head around, then you should consider a visit to Club No Sugar for an introduction. It's not just a keto-centric restaurant but feels more like an institute of sort. Launched in April, Club No Sugar stands where Green Republic restaurant was and the structure remains pretty much the same (Rama III is my turf).

From Paris to BKK
Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 06/09/2019
» Gontran Cherrier is a gifted fourth-generation baker originally from Normandy, France. After penning nine cookbooks and opening three bakeries in Paris, he furthered his ambition by opening more bakeries abroad in Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Australia. As of July 2018, this dashing 41-year-old pastry chef has 51 bakeries in six countries with his name attached to them. His first Thai branch named Gontran Cherrier Thailand opened in January and I stopped by mainly for their new dishes.

No-flipping required
Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 28/02/2020
» What do you get when you cross UFO, Yanbian-style barbecue, no-flipping grills and a lot of wordplay? BADBQ in Siam Square Soi 9 is the answer! To the best of my knowledge, this casual joint is the first and only in Thailand to offer a Yanbian-style barbecue, Yanbian being the autonomous prefecture in China with a large number of ethnic Koreans. This has resulted in the cuisine being a fusion of Chinese and Korean.

A (drag) star is (re)born
Life, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 27/07/2020
» The art of drag has been gaining momentum in the Thai mainstream in recent years, thanks to two seasons of Drag Race Thailand, the Thai version of the Emmy-winning RuPaul's Drag Race, and various gay-friendly parties popping over the town in pre-Covid-19 Bangkok.

There is such thing as a stupid question
Guru, Pornchai Sereemongkonpol, Published on 18/09/2020
» They say there is no such thing as a stupid question. Idiomatically speaking, this adage may be true but, for Thai textbooks, there may be some, in a literal sense.
