A global meeting for music buffs

» The 45th International Council for Traditional Music (ICTM) was held at Chulalongkorn University earlier this month. The premier global meeting for ethnomusicologists was held in Southeast Asia for the first time in its history. As the secretary-general of the ICTM Prof Ursuka Hemetek said: "This is a special occasion for us to be in Southeast Asia for the first time."

» Last weekend, eager Bangkokians finally got a chance to wander through the massively enchanting Iconsiam retail and entertainment centre. Co-developed between Siam Piwat, Magnolia Quality Development Corporation and Charoen Pokphand Group, Iconsiam is the biggest retail complex in Thailand, featuring majestic architecture and global stores with luxury brands to provide a shopping experience unlike any other (minus the heavy traffic that comes with it).

» Inside the sound control room of Chon Buri's Karma Sound Studio, the three members of Thai alternative rock band Slot Machine were standing in a corner, bobbing up and down in excitement as a line of journalists stepped through the door. One by one, we were greeted by the band's latest record producer Brandon Darner -- a former Slipknot drummer whose list of credits also include chart topping hits with Imagine Dragons.

» It has been a few weeks since the rescue of the Wild Boar soccer team from Tham Luang cave. With the successful and miraculous feel-good news of the rescue, it was inevitable that plans to dramatise the entire ordeal will be made into a movie. Reportedly, six film production companies are in talks with the Thai government and have expressed interest in obtaining rights to make a dramatic movie version of the events.

A pioneer for food waste prevention, Lephilibert contributed to the design of The Pledge On Food Waste. In Thailand, he works with Club Med, Accor, Hilton and Sampran hotel groups, to name a few.
