Microsoft developer troubleshooting woes

» I don't believe that Microsoft understands developers and development environments. I was working my way through a training course on Visual Studio 2008. The course itself, from Total Training, was not too bad. The product covered both Visual Basic and C# programming languages in their examples. One plus for .NET apart from the syntax differences is that the coding was quite similar when it came to the .NET functions.

» Microsoft recently made the claim that they had sold 90 million copies of Windows 7 since it reached the manufacturers in July last year. What actually happened then was that OEMs were told to put Win 7 on new machines by default. So the word "sold" is a little misleading here.

» How much can you trust an Internet Domain? When you go to, say, http://www.reliableshopping. com, how much can you find out about it? Theoretically when a domain is registered it should have information on who did so. You can use tools like http://www.whois.net to do a quick check. In the case of the site above, I found it is owned by godaddy.com. Trying http://www.internic.net to look it up found even less info, but I did ascertain that the domain will expire soon.
