» ที่ จ.สุราษฎร์ธานี มาชิกชมรมรักษ์เกาะเต่า อ.เกาะพะงัน ได้รับรายงานจากพนักงานเต่าทองรีสอร์ต หาดทรายนวล หมู่ 2 ต.เกาะเต่าว่า มีลูกเต่าตัวแรกจากรังที่ 2 ของแม่ทองดีออกมาจากรังแล้ว ตั้งแต่เช้าวันที่ 11 กันยายน 2566 จากรังไข่ที่พบทั้งหมด 3 รัง ซึ่งเป็นไปตามการคาดหมายของสัตวแพทย์ของกรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง และนักชีววิทยาทางทะเล สมาชิกชมรมรักษ์เกาะเต่า ที่ได้เฝ้าสังเกตุอุณหภูมิภายในรังเต่าและนับจากจำนวนวันหลังการวางไข่ทั้งนี้ สมาชิกชมรมรักษ์เกาะเต่า สมาชิกเทศบาลตำบลเกาะเต่า และอาสาสมัคร ได้ร่วมเฝ้าดูบริเวณของรังเต่า โดยพยายามปล่อยให้ลูกเต่าออกมาเองตามธรรมชาติ โดยในช่วงค่ำวันที่ 11 กันยายน มีลูกเต่าออกมา 2 ตัว ในเวลา 19.09 น. และอีก 12 ตัวในเวลา 22.01 น.ต่อมา สัตวแพทย์หญิงวัชรา ศากรวิมล นายสัตวแพทย์ชำนาญการพิเศษ ศูนย์วิจัยทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่งอ่าวไทยตอนกลาง ได้เดินทางมายังเกาะเต่า ตรวจสอบบริเวณรังเต่าและตัดสินใจค่อยๆ เปิดหลุมเต่าในช่วงบ่ายวันที่ 12 กันยายน จนในที่สุด ได้ลูกเต่าทั้งหมด 52 ตัวจากหลุมที่ 2 ของแม่ทองดี ซึ่งสัตวแพทย์ได้ให้รวบรวมปล่อยลงสู่ทะเลในช่วงเย็นเพื่อเพิ่มโอกาสในการรอดชีวิตในท้องทะเลเมื่อได้ลงน้ำเป็นกลุ่มในเวลาเดียวกัน ท่ามกลางเสียงเชียร์ให้กำลังใจลูกเต่าของนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติที่มาพำนักท่องเที่ยวบนเกาะเต่าจำนวนมาก โดยทั้งหมดไม่เคยเห็นลูกเต่าฟักตัวขึ้นจากหลุมและคลานลงทะเลเช่นนี้มาก่อน จนเป็นที่ประทับใจอย่างมากสำหรับแม่เต่า “ ทองดี “ ได้ขึ้นมาวางไข่บริเวณเดียวกันและฟักเป็นตัวรังที่ 1 เมื่อคืนวันที่ 30 สิงหาคม 2566 ลงทะเลไปแล้ว 42 ตัว รวม 2 หลุม(รัง) จำนวน 94 ตัว ซึ่งเป็นการยืนยันถึงความอุดมสมบูรณ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติบนเกาะเต่าPhoto By Supapong ChaolanPublished caption : Visitors eagerly observe turtle hatchlings as they make their way to the sea from their nests at Sai Nuan Beach on Koh Tao in Surat Thani.
