» Earlier in the month, work began on the expansion of Ratchapruek Road, a major route north of Bangkok which links the neighbouring provinces of Pathum Thani and Nonthaburi. The road, according to the Department of Rural Roads (DoRR), will see almost 50,000 vehicles pass through it every day, as it is expanded into a 10-lane thoroughfare, up from the present eight.

The Met not convinced, questions transparency of the EIA approval for 125 Sathorn

» The Met Condominium’s residents and other people in the upscale Sathorn neighborhood, are deeply concerned after PMT Property’s 125 Sathorn Project obtained EIA approval. Suspicions arose because the approval was granted after a strong and detailed 260-page objection report was submitted by The Met to the Expert Review Committee in March 2021, leading to the project being rejected in April. However, four months later the project surprisingly obtained EIA approval.

» Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha was happy to have a chat and a photo with US President Joe Biden at COP26 in Glasgow last week. Gen Prayut also took the opportunity to personally invite Mr Biden to Bangkok for the Asia-Pacific Economic Leaders Meeting (Apec) in late November next year. He could have done the same to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin if they were there but unfortunately but both leaders only participated in COP26 via online.
