Created by Park Chan-wook, the South Korean filmmaker of Oldboy and The Handmaiden fame, and produced by Robert Downey Jr, The Sympathizer is an espionage thriller and war drama filled with Hollywood satire. The bilingual miniseries will be released weekly until the end of May.

Those who live in the US are perhaps more familiar with this story as the book is usually required reading as part of high school and university curriculums. Now it's the turn of film lovers in Chiang Mai, Hat Yai and Songkhla to enjoy the same programme with subtitles in Thai and English. Physical screenings will take place at SFX Cinema Maya (Chiang Mai), Lorem Ipsum (Hat Yai) and A.E.Y Space (Songkhla) from today until Sunday.
Alien threat returns

» Over the past few years, it's been amazing to see Chris Pratt's transition to a mega action star from a small role as Andy, a goofy boyfriend in the sitcom Parks And Recreation, to more sci-fi and action roles like Peter Quill/Star-Lord in The Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise, a mysterious mechanical engineer in space thriller Passengers with Jennifer Lawrence or dinosaur researcher Owen Grady in the Jurassic World franchise. Now Pratt is using his skills to play a military scientist with daddy issues who goes against time on a mission to save the world from an alien invasion in The Tomorrow War. Although lacking an original idea, with parts of the story derived from many past sci-fi hits, The Tomorrow War is still an enjoyable action-adventure with adrenaline-fuelled chase sequences.
Zombies are back but with a twist

Nowadays, zombie movies come in all different shapes, styles, and levels of blood and gore. They are constantly evolving and have grown out of George Romero's cult classic Night Of The Living Dead. However, no matter what kind of zombie movie you make, you'll surely need a great story to go along with it too.
