The 2021 Guru awards

Guru, Eric E Surbano, Published on 24/12/2021

» As the year comes to a close and we're all looking back at the past 12 months with introspection, at Guru we will stick to time-honoured tradition of being reflectively snarky. So before we head into the new year with resolutions we'll give up on halfway through the first month of 2022, let's roll out the metaphorical red carpet as we award moments from the eventful year. What's trending and happening this week

» 1 In celebration of the Thai New Year, W Bangkok is holding Songkran Splash Away Pool Party on April 13. Held in collaboration with local party collective Kolour, the event will also feature a host of DJs both local and international, who will be laying down the party beats. Tickets cost 900 baht, but early-birds can pick them up for a discounted 700 baht. Arrive before 3pm and you'll even get two complimentary drinks with your tickets. Considering the country's current water-shortage problems, a pool party is probably the most responsible way to get yourselves doused this Songkran anyway.
