» Members of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) turned out to be the suspicious type; the Magnificent Seven disclosed they are afraid that the companies who want to bid at the auction for 3G licences might now get together and actually share information about their prospects at the end of the month; in fact from Monday, it will be collusion, it will be a criminal offence for any of the companies to even issue a press release on what its plans might be for 3G; the companies have put in papers to pre-qualify to take part in the auction on Sept 20, along with deposits of 1.28 billion baht apiece, and that money will be seized if any company tries to share its plans with any other; the NTC has asked the Ministry of Internet Censorship in Thailand (MICT) to coordinate collusion by law enforcement agencies to make sure there is no collusion by the phone companies, top agencies called in as monitors include the DSI and Amlo - Department of Special Investigation and the Anti-Money Laundering Office.

Massive coincidence

Database, Published on 30/06/2010

» Who ever would have predicted that a million Thais would not be able to get ID cards because of a spat between the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and the Ministry of Internet Censorship of Thailand (MICT)? Well, actually, lots of people predicted that, as far back as 2002 when the "smart card" was just a gleam in the eye of certain grasping politicians, just as it is today; the MICT has approved the million-unit shipment of the cards with chips, but the MOI says they are flawed; Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said the MICT should get with the suppliers of the cards and tell them to shape up, and the MICT people told the prime minister they would speed up the process and try to get back to him in a month or so; you should be ashamed of yourself for what you're thinking about the public-service officials and politicians who run the ministries, and are simply tragic victims of a serious problem involving the nation's security.
