Seagate Wireless Plus disk (Part II): Not exactly plug and play

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 13/01/2016

» Apple's iOS devices do not allow users to access data on disks using the Lightning connector. Using Wi-Fi to access content stored on a disk is a solution. I have been trying to work with a Seagate Wireless Plus disk. I was encouraged by a number of positive reviews I had read.

Apple Music and updated iPods

Life, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 19/08/2015

» I have been using Apple Music a fair amount, although last week spent time catching up with podcasts I had missed while friends were here. During the week, a number of local users who connect to the internet at home via True were complaining that Apple Music was connecting badly. I had a look in iTunes on the Mac and found that "For You" -- perhaps the most significant part of the service -- would connect, but no music was being played. I also tried the Radio stations. While Beats 1 connected, the Classical and Alternative music stations connected but would play no sound (like "For You").

Aperture 3 (1): A Dubious First Day

Database, Graham K. Rogers, Published on 03/03/2010

Aperture 2 had begun to creak and this worsened after the Snow Leopard update last year: a 32-bit application for professional photographers on a 64-bit operating system. As soon as the online store for Thailand was back online, I ordered my update, which arrived at my office on Monday morning. The update was 3,690 baht instead of 7,290 baht for the full version. After lunch, I opened the box.
