Benefits to the state of extending the retirement age

» A proposal by the Civil Servants Commission that the government extend the retirement age of government officials from 60 to 65 years of age has attracted mixed reactions. Even though the Prayut Chan-o-cha government has put on hold the proposal for now, the idea is still worth a review.

Ageing society needs new policy approach

» The 21st century will be the century of the ageing society. According to the United Nations, around 10% of the total population during this century will be defined as ageing (aged 60 or older). This demographic change to an ageing society will require attention and more active responses from policymakers around the world.
