» The 12th White Elephant Art Award focuses on realistic and figurative art which refers to art that depicts everyday objects, figures or subjects in a realistic or true-to-life way. After The White Elephant Art Award announced a theme of "Cherish The World", two artists -- Jarun Pan-onta and Surapun Kwansaensuk -- drew inspiration from nature to create paintings. As a result, Jarun won the White Elephant Prize while Surapun won a special prize called the Khunying Wanna Sirivadhanabhakdi Award, created for the first time.

The artist was uncomfortable being locked up in his house every summer and the PM 2.5 pollution was getting worse. Chiang Mai used to be renowned for its spectacular landscape, but last March, Chiang Mai became known as the most polluted city in the world, according to IQ AirVisual.

» One of last year's biggest TV hits was Diary of Tootsies the Series. Inspired by the Facebook page Ban Tuek Khong Tood (Dairy of a Gay) by Khuncha Theethawit, the show focuses on the love lives of its gay and lesbian characters. Fans couldn't get enough of their outrageous adventures. One of the show's most popular characters was Golf, played by Thongchai Thongkuntom (Pingpong). The 27-year-old's hilarious performance turned him into a star overnight.
