Not just expensive toys

» In the days following the announcement of the latest MacBook Pro computers, reports followed the usual pattern. The MacBook Pro misses the boat; Apple is doomed; Tim Cook should be replaced; and there were the usual questions about "what would Steve Jobs have done/said/thought?". An Apple product is like an iceberg: only a small part is visible above the surface; most is hidden.

» This is my third look at iLife '11, which includes GarageBand, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD and iWeb. Although iTunes is a part of iLife and it integrates with the other parts, it is installed and updated separately, because of its functions as a conduit for online services and synchronising of iOS devices, like the iPhone.
