Unfortunately, she then immediately reached into a shopworn bag of inflation-fighting gimmicks. The premier, from misguided belief or lack of ideas, fell back on a well-tested, ineffective mix of measures that she promised _ unrealistically _ will ease the people's pain and make price rises stop hurting.
