Software piracy rate drops 1% despite economic woes

» Despite the economic downturn, the piracy rate in Thailand fell one percent last year, reaching 75 percent. The widespread adoption of cloud computing and strong enforcement of piracy laws by the government were credited with the dip in piracy, although wider access to broadband is increasing access to pirated products, which may prove attractive to those suffering economically as a result of continuing political unrest this year.
