Thai Mental Health Initiative: Fight Depression Together

Published on 14/03/2024

» Bangkok Insurance and the Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health, recognise the importance of mental health, particularly the increasing prevalence of depression and its social implications. To address this issue, they have collaborated to organise a press conference under the theme "Promoting Mental Health for Sustainable Protection." The objective was to raise public awareness about depression and educate family members and caregivers on providing compassionate care to sufferers. Additionally, a commercial advertisement was released portraying depression not as a mere emotional response but as a treatable illness by mental health professionals. The advertisement features narratives from two individuals: Mr. Pongkool Suebsung, also known as Pop-Pongkool, a humorous artist, and Mr. Natee Ekwijit, also known as Oui-Buddha Bless, who shared his experience as a therapist.
