Going for gold

» Juti Krairiksh, Minister of Internet Censorship in Thailand (MICT), told your ToT and your CAT Telecom to cool the plans to pour huge money into new networks; for example, your CAT wants to put six billion baht into a fibre-optic project; for example, your ToT wants to throw 13 billion baht into a next-generation network, and you know what that is, right? » Members of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) turned out to be the suspicious type; the Magnificent Seven disclosed they are afraid that the companies who want to bid at the auction for 3G licences might now get together and actually share information about their prospects at the end of the month; in fact from Monday, it will be collusion, it will be a criminal offence for any of the companies to even issue a press release on what its plans might be for 3G; the companies have put in papers to pre-qualify to take part in the auction on Sept 20, along with deposits of 1.28 billion baht apiece, and that money will be seized if any company tries to share its plans with any other; the NTC has asked the Ministry of Internet Censorship in Thailand (MICT) to coordinate collusion by law enforcement agencies to make sure there is no collusion by the phone companies, top agencies called in as monitors include the DSI and Amlo - Department of Special Investigation and the Anti-Money Laundering Office.
