» Amid the deluge of headlines that pop up on my (and perhaps your) smartphone screen, a few manage to catch my attention with their unexpected funniness especially those regarding Thai politics. Some are so ironic, they are jokes. Not sure what I'm getting at? Here are a few examples for your entertainment. After reading too many corruption scandals involving state officials, one just needs a few laughs, y'know.

» While you may already know about Shallow News in Depth — a very popular satirical news recap show on internet-based SpokeDark TV — and its co-hosts John Winyu and Por Mor, there's another person who's been very instrumental to its success. Her name is Janya "Rosie" Wongsurawat, John's older sister and Por Mor's wife, who graduated from Thammasat's Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication. As the show's producer and SpokeDark's co-founder, she's the brains behind its many popular shows. We talked with Rosie about SpokeDark's origins and its new show, her thoughts on the government's efforts to regulate the media and, most importantly, her favourite quote by Uncle Tu.

Besides the congested roads we're painfully aware of, as well as being rejected by taxi drivers on a regular basis, there are other minor struggles that one comes across while living in the City of Angels.
