Celluloid sleuths more fun in the old days

News, Roger Crutchley, Published on 05/03/2023

» I was watching a US cops and robbers film the other day in which the police were using those large portable phones that were around just at the start of the cellphone revolution. » There are 7 billion people in the world, a minute fraction are family and friends, and that's the way I like it. We all have problems -- I can't solve theirs, they can't solve mine. As life goes on, hopefully, they'll work themselves out or go away. If not, deal with them as best we can.

» If mythology is to be believed, Midas was the richest man in the world. But his wealth was a curse. Everything he touched turned to gold, including food. Back in time, emperors were decked out in jewels, which is why tomb raiders broke into pyramids and tombs.
